States

Marco did fabulously well at the NY State Scholastic Chess Championship in Saratoga Springs. He scored 4 1/2 out of 6 in the U1000 division and was undefeated through the first five rounds. If he had won the last round, he would have come in 3rd in the division (of 252 players). As it was, he came in 21st and his team was 5th. His rating went from 807 to 1020 (1000 is a big milestone) and he got to sign the hall of fame board for the PS 166 team. Pretty cool!

This was on the walk from our Airbnb the first morning. Turned out the new chess bag was good luck.
